As a first time home owner, I began to realize all the things that my husband and I…. don’t have. One of those things was an address plate! When you first buy a home, you want to buy everything you see and fix everything all at once. That’s not always possible so this is how this address plate was created. One day when I was talking with my dad about my house, I mentioned our need for an address plate and voila… we have a custom one that matches the stain on our garage door. Check out the pictures and tips below to create your own.
Before you begin, you will need the following:
Piece of wood for address plate (desired size)
4 in. nail on address plaque reflective numbers (must be nail-on)
Wood Stain (desired stain)
Step 1: Select size of address plate and purchase wood
Step 2: Select wood stain/ finish and prepare until you have your desired shade
(MINWAX is a good choice)
Step 3: Space out numbers and use small hammer to secure numerals, you do not want to damage the numbers.
Step 4: Secure your new address plate to the desired location, in this picture it was secured and drilled into my light post.
