DOGGY Themed Birthday Party

DOG BIRTHDAY CANVA

When you go to a doggy themed birthday party, you have to bring doggy themed desserts! What better desserts are there than dog bone rice krispie treats, puppy chow and push “pups”? My inspiration for these treats came from a 1st birthday party that I attended in August! One of my favorite little guys was turning one and his favorite thing in the world is dogs! So I set off to make him the most delicious dog themed treats!

See below for these fun and simple ideas for this dog themed party!

Treats1

Dog Bone Rice Krispie Treats! These fun treats were simple to make! I used the basic recipe on the pack of the rice krispie box: melt one stick of butter, mix in a bag of marshmallows. Once they are all melted take off of heat. Stir in rice krispie treats. Let it cool for a few minutes.

Take out wax paper on a cookie sheet. Mold your rice krispies into dog bones. img_0277

Then melt chocolate (add in food coloring if you would like). Drizzle icing on top of the dog bones and then add sprinkles.

Put in the refrigerator to harden (other wise they fall apart). When they were finished, I put my doggy bones in a dog bowl!

Next up, Puppy Chow! This puppy chow was a total hit! Who doesn’t love to snack on good ole’ puppy chow?

Here is a basic recipe you are sure to love: Puppy Chow

Add the puppy chow into a cute down bowl! You can get these at any pet store or dollar store!

These puppy Push “Pups” were also a hit! I don’t know what it is about push pop desserts, but everyone LOVES them! They are so easy to eat and are individualized so people can just grab them and go!

For the decoration part, I painted a red wooden crate and added cute dog bone stickers. I added Styrofoam on the bottom. I bought these push pops from amazon here —> push pops.

For the push pops I made 2 layers. The first layer was brownies. For the second layer I made a marshmallow creme filling. Here is the recipe for the Oreo marshmallow creme:

Ingredients:

1 stick of softened butter

1 jar of marshmallow creme

3 cups of powdered sugar

1 teaspoon of vanilla

Oreo Cookie Crumbs (Put cookies in a bag and smash them)

Directions:

1. Place softened butter in bowl and mix until smooth and fluffy.

2. Slowly stir in powdered sugar

3. Add jar of marshmallow fluff and teaspoon of vanilla

4. Mix until a frosting consistency

5. Add in Oreo cookie crumbs! The more the better 🙂

Push “Pup” Assembly: Start by taking your cooled brownies. Get a spoon and mix it up so it is more of a “crumble” like consistency. Then take your push pop and put in a scoop of crumbled brownie and then add a scoop of the Oreo marshmallow creme. Alternate layers until filled to the top!

These are so easy to make and so delicious! I promise these will be a hit at your next party!
