Grilled Cheese Dippers

Looking for a unique appetizer or snack for an upcoming party? Give this recipe a try. It’s a favorite for adults… and the little ones. This sauce is a very healthy option to use with pasta as well, there’s no added sugar! Give it a try and ENJOY!

Below you will find instructions for the tomato sauce and grilled cheese dippers.

Tomato Sauce Ingredients:

ghee butter (may substitute other cooking fat)

black pepper


1 bay leaf

1 teaspoon oregano

1 teaspoon thyme

1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes

1 garlic clove (minced)

1 carrot, peeled and chopped (small pieces)

1 celery stalk, peeled and chopped (small pieces)

1 onion  chopped (small pieces0

How To:

Heat ghee butter in large pot

Add onion, celery, carrot and stir for 3-5 minutes

Add garlic and stir for 3-5 more minutes

Add crushed tomatoes, spices, and bay leaf

Reduce heat to a simmer, cover pot

Stir every 15 minutes for 1 hour

Discard bay leaf before serving

Grilled Cheese Dipper Ingredients:

1 loaf white bread

1 package sharp cheddar cheese

1/2 lb butter

How To:

Prepare 6-8 slices of bread (may make more depending on your serving size)

Cut crust off all slices

Roll slices very flat with rolling pin (do not make TOO thin)

Place 1 slice of cheese on each piece of bread

Roll bread and cheese

Heat butter on skillet

Add grilled cheese dippers to skillet

Cook until all sides are golden brown or cheese is melted

Serve with homemade tomato sauce
