One of my favorite party appetizers to make are these Individual Taco Dips. I don’t know about you, but I LOVE to double dip and get as much dip in every bite as I can! These individual cups make dreams come true! They are always a crowd pleaser and are so easy to just throw on your plate!
I most recently made these for a Super Bowl party we went to. I have also made these for family parties! These are nice to put out when people are first arriving to your party before the food is out. It gives party goers a little something to snack on while they wait for the main entree!
Another thing I really like about these appetizers is that they are pretty healthy for the most part. They have cheese, salsa, sour cream, guacamole and beans! Not too bad on the health scale, right? Now if you eat a zillion of these (which you might want to), you might have to reconsider the healthy aspect! HA!
These cups are pretty straightforward to make, however I have a couple tricks to make them taste really really yummy and have them look as good as they taste!
Here is what you need: tortilla chips, small plastic cups, refried beans, taco seasoning, shredded Mexican cheese, jar of salsa, guacamole and sour cream!
Tricks for making these cups looks pretty:
1. Put ingredients in a small zip block back and cut the tip OR use an icing decorating bag!
2. Use the bottom of a spoon after putting each layer in the cup and spread it around
Here on out making these are pretty easy, but I do have one pointer!
Mix your taco seasoning with the can of refried beans. When you are making this part it look pretty gross, not going to lie to you about that. I will tell you that it tastes delicious though! So good!
So that is your first layer (refried beans/taco seasoning combo).
Use the tricks above to learn how to make them look nice!
Next, add your guacamole! Yummy!
And your sour cream!
Use a spoon to add some salsa!
Don’t add too much salsa other wise it might just be too much and overpower the dip…
Sprinkle on the cheese!
You can also add fresh tomatoes on top for garnish (or any other toppings that you like with your taco dip!
Add a chip to the top of your dip and your done!
For traveling I like to put the taco cups in a cake pan so that they do not slide around and then just wrap that with clear wrap. You can take fit about 12 cups in each pan.
- 1 bag of tortilla chips
- Small plastic cups (however many you need)
- Refried beans
- Taco seasoning
- Shredded Mexican cheese
- Jar of salsa
- Sour cream
- Lay out your desired amount of cups
- Mix your taco seasoning with the can of refried beans and add this layer to each cup
- Next, add your guacamole layer!
- Add your sour cream layer!
- Add your salsa layer!
- Sprinkle on the cheese!
- You can also add fresh tomatoes on top for garnish (or any other toppings that you like with your taco dip!
